Hi! I'm Randi. I am a full time mom, and never thought I would be. After I married my husband I taught school and loved it. That is until my oldest daughter was almost two years old. I realized that even though I loved my students, I spent more time with them than my own daughter. So...I made a change, and now I am a crazy, non- stop, cooking, cleaning, car pool, play date, church going, stay at home mom.

Yummy Venison Meatballs

Try this recipe!

I make these meatballs for get togethers all of the time. I have made them numerous ways. I started out making these using frozen, pre-made meatballs. I am not going to lie, they are great this way but loaded with fat. Then I began making homemade meatballs using turkey. They are so fabulous. However I now have a freezer full of venison, so I tried making these out of the deer meat, and they were great!

Whatever way you choose here is the recipe for the meatball itself.

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef, turkey, or venison
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbsp. water
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs ( try whole wheat)
  • 1/4 cup minced onion
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper

Preparation:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large bowl combine egg, water, bread crumbs, onion, salt and pepper and combine. Add the meat, broken into chunks, and mush with your hands to combine. Form into meatballs about 1" in diameter and place on a broiler pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes until meatballs are no longer pink in center.

Now that you have the meatballs...throw them in a crock pot with a bottle of teriyaki marinade and a cup of pineapple cut into chunks. Let it simmer for a couple of hours...and enjoy!
